Velvet Store

Brighton based Velvet Store opened in 2001 and quickly gathered local momentum. Now with three shops in Brighton and Hove, the store has branched out into beautiful furniture, gifts and accessories. We were lucky enough to work with Velvet on the development of their website and we were keen to help them with the marketing of their site.

Client's brief

Having already achieved local notoriety for stocking the most beautiful reproduction furniture and home accessories, Velvet were keen to embark on capturing the rest of the UK with their styles and designs.

Here's what we did

Forums are a hub of activity and threads on forums are all based around a topic. We set about finding forums and threads with users that would be interested to see what Velvet had to offer. From Home and Garden magazines to fashion sites, we posted helpful tips and links to Velvet, explaining who and what they were about.

We posted on several forums, but below are the results from one posting on a fashion magazine website.

Our results

The forum users who visited the Velvet site were highly qualified and interested in what they saw and read, which is illustrated by the statistics below. This was a fantastic brand exposure exercise and now those visitors will associate Velvet with their specific products.
