The site is the most comprehensive headset site on the web.

Client's brief

To design an ecommerce website that will be the leader in its field. It needed to be more than just an ecommerce website; it needed to provide users a resource of technical information and product buyer guides too.

The site had to outperform all other headsets sites in the search engines too. Not much too ask I hear you say!!

Here's what we did

The planning & information architecture stage of the web design was extensive. We looked at how a user would enter the site and how they would find the information they were looking for as well as their journey all the way to payment.

We realised that most visitors would be entering the site via search engines and land directly onto a product or category page, so it was crucial that each page hand clear navigation and information on where and what the site had to offer. The stats now show that only 31% of users land on the homepage.

The rich design provides an interesting journey for the user; it's not your simple ecommerce design. Features on the site included:

'Refine your selection' that allows a user to select a range of features they require, which will then show them the products with those specific features.
'Compare Features' allows users to compare product features of different products.
'Connectivity Selector' allows users to select the correct headset connector depending on the application or system they are using.
Product photo gallery and zoom images.
Comprehensive Buyers Guide and Information Zones
Rich product information, user guides, manuals, related products, features, tech spec and reviews
The site was built using the latest Search Engine Optimisation coding techniques. We also optimised all the content of the site making sure every product and category was optimised individually.

Our results

As soon as the site was launched the client started to receive orders and winning new customers, including the M.O.D, Police and major UK call centres. It is definitely a case that a well designed and professional looking site wins the trust of the more discerning user.

The site is now ranked number 1 on Google for their important search terms such as 'Headsets', 'Ground Crew Headsets' and 'Broadcasting Headsets'; no need for expensive Pay per Click Campaigns here!!
