Based in Maidstone Kent, Click n go Mortgages was setup a few years ago by mortgage broker James Marshall.

From the very start James realised that the web was going to be the key to the success of building his mortgage business.

Client's brief

Design and develop a website which would work alongside our internet marketing strategy that would make him a leader in the mortgage broker market.

The new website also required a Customer Relations Management system that would allow his brokers to manage incoming mortgage applications quickly and efficiently.

Here's what we did

The site needed to accomplish a lot of functions and work alongside our ongoing search engine marketing strategy, so this is how we did it.

  • Product Pages: We created a dedicated page for each mortgage product, combined with an application form. Each product page leads off to relevant resources and information about the product.
  • Mortgage Application Process: The stats showed that the old 5 stage application had a lot of drop outs half way through. So we shortened the application form to a simple 1 page form.
  • Resources: We researched the content and resources a user wants to have at their fingertips when in the process of buying a home and moving. We then developed a comprehensive toolkit of resources including Mortgage Calculators, links and advice on how to sell your house, buying a house, cost of moving house and the processes involved. The site also covers subject such property prices, how to find solicitors, hips and estate agents.
  • Mortgage Market News: We integrated a World Press blog to publish news throughout the site, depending on the product area and subject i.e.: The first time buyer's area has news and information relating to first time buyers.
  • Search Engine Optimisation: We coded the site with clean, search engine friendly code. We also optimised and developed the content in each area so the site would rank well in the search engines. The site now ranks in the top 5 of Google for terms such as '100% Mortgages' and 'Bad Credit Mortgages'.
  • Web Analytics: We have also integrated Google Analytics so we can track every user and every search term for conversion rates.
  • Customer Relations Management: We built a bespoke web based customer relations management system which allows the Brokers to manage and update incoming Mortgage Applications from start to finish. This has increased the response time on leads and has dramatically improved the work flow in the office, freeing up brokers time to do the job they do best - give mortgage advice.

Our results

We have dramatically improved the conversion rate by creating separate and specific pages for each of the Mortgage products as well as making the quote form a very simple form. In addition, by analysing the results from Google Analytics we have almost halved the cost of their Pay per Click campaigns and doubled the conversion rate.
